Passengers must have a valid visa issued by New Zealand.
Passengers can obtain an e-visa before departure at https://www.immigration.govt.nz/visas/visitor-visa/ . They must have a printed e-visa letter.

Passengers with a permanent resident visa, resident visa with travel conditions or a returning residence visa issued by New Zealand do not need a visa.
Passengers can enter with a Resident visa, Permanent Resident visa or Returning resident's visa issued by New Zealand.
Residents of Australia do not need a visa if they have a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) obtained before departure at https://nzeta.immigration.govt.nz/ . They must also have: - an "Authority to Return" stamp issued by Australia; or - a permanent residence visa issued by Australia; or - a resident return visa issued by Australia that allows an indefinite stay in Australia.
Passengers with a passport with an Australian citizen or a New Zealand citizen endorsement do not need a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA).
