Passengers must have a valid visa issued by Norway. If they travel to Svalbard, they must have a valid multiple-entry visa issued by Norway.

Passengers who travel to Svalbard can enter with a "C" or "D" multiple-entry visa issued by another Schengen Member State for a maximum of 90 days in a period of 180 days.
Passengers can enter with a "C" or "D" visa issued by another Schengen Member State for a maximum of 90 days in a period of 180 days. If they travel to Svalbard, the "C" or "D" visa must be multiple-entry.
Passengers with a residence permit issued by Norway do not need a visa.
Passengers with a residence permit issued by Monaco or another Schengen Member State do not need a visa for a maximum of 90 days in a period of 180 days.
Schengen "D" Visas issued by Portugal with the remark "CPLP" are not accepted. Schengen "C" visas must be valid for the visited Schengen Member State. This is specified in the "valid for" field of the visa.
"C" visas issued by Bulgaria or Romania before 31 March 2024 are not accepted.
As Svalbard is outside the Schengen area, visitors that enter the Schengen area who require a Schengen visa with an itinerary that also includes Longyearbyen (LYR) and re-entry into the Schengen area must have a double or multiple entry Schengen visa.
A visa in an expired travel document is accepted if the passenger has a new travel document.
