Exemptions for Minors

Passengers do not need a visa if they arrive at Erbil (EBL) or Sulaymaniyah (ISU) and if they travel with one of their parents who are nationals of Iraq.

Exemptions for Family Members

Passengers that arrive at Erbil (EBL) or Sulaymaniyah (ISU) and travel with one of their parents who are nationals of Iraq and they hold valid documents proving Iraqi origin do not need a visa.

Visa Issuance for Minors

Foreign minors younger than 18 years of Iraqi parents can obtain a visa upon arrival. They must have the passport, the Civil ID, the ID Certificate or the national ID card of the parent. Payments are accepted with credit card only at Erbil (EBL), Kirkuk (KIK) and Najaf (NJF) and in cash only at Sulaymaniyah (ISU). - This does not apply when arriving at Basra (BSR).

Exemptions for Birth Certificate

Passengers that arrive at Erbil (EBL) with a travel document stating that their place of birth is Iraq do not need a visa.

Exemptions Country Specific

Passengers traveling to Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR), Erbil (EBL), Najaf (NJF) or Sulaymaniyah (ISU) with a national ID card issued by Iraq do not need a visa. The name on the Iraqi document must be the same as stated on the passport or other document accepted for entry.

Visa Information

Passengers who reside abroad must obtain the Iraqi visa in their country of residence and must present their residence permit to enter Iraq.

Passengers who are eligible for a visa on arrival must pay the visa fees by credit card when arriving at Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR), Erbil (EBL), Kirkuk (KIK) or Najaf (NJF), and in cash when arriving at Sulaymaniyah (ISU).

Letters signed and stamped issued by the Ministry of Interior of Iraq to passengers that arrive at Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR) or Najaf (NJF) must be forwarded to the airline's station manager in order to receive an OK TO BOARD from the immigration. Sticker visas inside the passport have to be checked by Najaf (NJF) station in order to obtain an OK TO BOARD from the immigration.
