Passengers with a Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode issued by the United Kingdom on their passport do not need a visa.
Residents of the United Kingdom with a passport with a stamp that states ‘Given leave to enter the United Kingdom for an indefinite period’ do not need a visa.
Passengers can enter with a residence permit issued by the United Kingdom in the form of an e-visa.
Visas can be in physical form, or a digital eVisa. If it is a digital eVisa, receipt by airlines of the response message ‘0A – Valid Permission to Travel Found’ from the Home Office is satisfactory evidence of permission to travel. In the absence of the response message, airlines can check the evidence of an e-Visa at https://www.gov.uk/check-immigration-status , using a share code provided by the passenger.

There is no passport control between Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Ireland (Rep.). British authorities impose a strict control on passengers who transit through Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ireland (Rep.). Passengers who travel e.g. Frankfurt-London-Dublin without a return/onward ticket may be thoroughly interrogated.
Flights between the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands, Ireland (Rep.) and Isle of Man are treated as domestic flights, therefore are not subject to UK immigration control.
