Passengers must have a valid visa issued by China (People's Rep.).

Passengers with a residence permit issued by China (People's Rep.) or a China (People's Rep.) Alien Permanent Identity Card do not need a visa. Residence permits stamped with ink are not valid for entry.
Passengers can transit without a visa if they have an onward ticket for a flight within 24 hours. They can obtain an entry permit upon arrival. This does not apply if they transit at Huangshan (TXN), Mudanjiang (MDG) or Urumqi (URC).
Passengers with a Port E-Visa Confirmation Letter issued by China (People's Rep.) can obtain a visa upon arrival at Shanghai Pudong (PVG) or Shanghai Hongqiao (SHA).
Passengers with a Port Visa Notification can obtain a visa upon arrival at the port which issued the notification.
Passengers arriving at the Business Cooperation Zone via Pudong International Airport (PVG) with an invitation letter issued by the International Business Cooperation Zone (IBCZ) do not need a visa. They must travel on business. Airlines can verify the invitation letter at https://ibcz.pudong.gov.cn/ocheck .
Passengers can obtain a visa upon arrival at Shenzhen (SZX) for a maximum of 5 days if they travel as tourists. They must not leave Shenzhen during their stay. Before departure, the carrier must notify the local immigration and obtain approval.
Passengers with a Trade Visa (M Visa) issued by China (People's Rep.) must have an invitation letter.
Passengers with a tourist group visa on a visa list can obtain the original visa upon arrival from the travel agency.
When a visa is used, a round entry stamp is placed in the passport (i.e. a used single entry visa contains one round entry stamp, a used double entry visa contains two round entry stamps).
A valid visa in an expired passport is accepted if accompanied by a new valid passport of the same nationality. The personal data in both passports must be identical.
